Shipping Zones

A Shipping Zone is an area range within which buyers will be able to place orders from your store. Your items will be shown only to buyers within the shipping zone’s range. You can also specify the shipping rate that you will be charging your buyers within a shipping zone.

Scenario 1: Sam owns a retail store in Maharashtra and wishes to sell his products only in Maharashtra. He creates a shipping zone for Maharashtra state and provides a shipping rate. This way, his products can only be delivered within Maharashtra.

Scenario 2: Kumar owns a toy store in Tamilnadu and wishes to sell his products in three different states. He creates a shipping zone for these three states and provides a shipping rate. Only the buyers across the states Kumar specified will be able to place an order from Kumar’s store.

Scenario 3: Hari sells beauty products across India. He has two different shipping rates, one to ship products inside Kerala and another to ship to other parts of the country. He creates two different shipping zones and assigns them to his store in Vikra Seller. This enables him to sell his products across the country, at the same time allowing him to set different rates based on delivery locations.

Create a Shipping Zone

To create a shipping zone:

  • Click the Gear icon in the top right corner of the page.
  • Click Shipping Zones.
  • Click + New.
  • Enter a Title.

You can set your shipping zone in three ways:

Zones Based on States

When you select this option, you will be able to select multiple states under the State dropdown. Or you can check the Select All States checkbox to deliver across India.

Zones Based on PIN Code

When you select this option, you will be able to enter PIN codes under the PIN Code textbox. Your items will be visible to buyers requesting for delivery under the specified pin codes.

Note: You can ship to a group of PIN codes by entering '*' or '?' as a wildcard. An asterisk represents multiple characters, whereas a question mark stands for one character only.

For example, 900* will ship to all PIN codes starting with ‘‘900’’, whereas 9001* will ship to all PIN codes starting with ‘‘9001’’, but with one extra character.

PIN codes within a range can also be included. For example, 10001-10099 will include all pin codes between this range.

Zones Based on Radius

When you select this option, you will be able to enter a distance radius within which your items can be purchased.

For example, if you wish to sell your products within a 50 kilometre radius, enter 50 under the Enter Radius text box.
